Submission and Service Process

This form will be used to make a submission into a privately owned Copyright Management System.  Your creative work will be appended to you as an individual or a business at your request.  We will provide third party affirmation that you are the genuine owner of the creative works that you submit.

Your submission will be validated and searched against the rest of the internet to ensure that you are the genuine owner and creator of the work.  It will then be serialized and you will be given an access pin which will be required for presentation when you need to make changes.

Your creative work will be checked against the internet on a daily basis to ensure that no unauthorized use is taking place.  While this system usually handles this process quite well, it is still important for you to report unauthorized use when it is observed in case it is not flagged by our system for that day.

If your creative work already has a copyright protection status elsewhere, this service does not allow index, and will not conflict with other providers.  You are within your right to use this service along with other services for more protection.

 

 

Understanding Default Intellectual Property Rights

Under current intellectual property law, a copyright is enforceable on any creative work created by any person at the moment of its inception.  The work does NOT need to be registered with the US Copyright Office (USCO) to be enforceable or valid.  The USCO maintains a public registry providing the same services for the same purpose.

For this reason, websites such as YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook treat their website as some form of copyright registry called a “Intellectual Property Entry Point”.  The same format will be used when you submit your own work to this website for protection.

In an effort to make this process more accessible, FlakFerret, LLC offers this service at a significant discount, and offers protection on creative works that are often excluded from protection by USCO.  It is my belief that you shouldn’t have to pay a premium to exercise rights which are already available to you.

Single Lifetime Service Fee and Payment Policies

FlakFerret, LLC offers this service for a single lifetime payment of $50.  Any discounts and offers are handled on a case-by-case basis, and are subject to agreements upon the review of your submission.

This service fee covers the maintenance of the website and continuing enforcement of your copyright at your request, or through automated systems.

Funds may also be used for research and development, expansion, contracted web development or other more efficient and effective ways to offer our services to you.

If this service fee must ever change, current policyholders will NOT be expected to pay any difference, and new submissions by current policyholders will always reflect their first paid rate.

Payment for service is not collected until your submission is approved.  Payments of the service fee will be handled through digital invoice.  Your policy will not be declared active until this invoice is paid in full.  You will be given 30 days to respond to the invoice.  If payment is not received by the end of this period, the policy will be abandoned and the submission will be closed.

 

 

Notice For Patents and Trademarks

Flakferret, LLC does not have the power to register Patents or Trademarks under its own power.  Patents and Trademarks must be handled by the US Patents and Trademarks Office (USPTO).

If you would like assistance with this process, I can offer this assistance for the regular service fee in addition to filing fees required by USPTO.
